beginners guide
OK, you want a website, but you're not sure where to start. Don't worry! A lot of people get in touch with us feeling like that. This page is here to help you understand the basics of what's involved.
You'll need three things to start your site. Firstly, you'll need a domain name e.g. abisti.com. You can buy domain names from us here simply by contacting us. Prices can vary depending on which suffix you have e.g. .com is £30 per year with Abisti, whilst .co.uk works out at £10 per year.
Secondly, you'll need to rent some space on the internet for your website to live. This is called web hosting. Again just contact us and we can sort this out for you immediately. With Abisti, this costs £120 per year.
Finally, you'll need to get your site built for you. Prices can vary depending on what you want - a simple 4 or 5 page site will be cheaper than a 300-page ecommerce site complete with the ability to take credit card payments, for instance. Again, just contact us and we can discuss your needs and advise you as to the best cost-effective site for your requirements. We look forward to hearing from you!
Should you wish to learn more about doing it yourself, we also offer face-to-face one-to-one tutoring at £50 per hour.
